ANESTHESIA
As surgical specialists of dentistry, oral and maxillofacial surgeons are trained in all aspects of anesthesia administration. It is their extensive training that distinguishes the specialty in providing safe and effective outpatient anesthesia. Local anesthesia, nitrous oxide (laughing gas), oral sedation (relaxation pill), and intravenous sedation (twilight sleep) are options administered by Dr. Caso and Dr. Ash to provide comfort and safety for surgical procedures at our office.
Office-based surgery is often the most efficient and cost effective way to perform many procedures while maintaining maximum patient comfort and safety. In some cases, however, a general anesthetic may be more appropriate for a given procedure or patient. In such cases Dr. Caso or Dr. Ash would perform the surgery in a hospital environment at one of the local hospitals.
We are happy to help you decide which form of anesthesia is most appropriate for your specific treatment, and to answer any questions you may have regarding anesthesia. Please contact our office to discuss your options or to schedule a consultation with Dr. Caso or Dr. Ash.
